I got given a nice Gateway by my workplace as a Christmas bonus. I wouldn't ordinarily recommend Gateway, but this was a refurbished model they'd upgraded to the nines in an effort to make it sell... 8 gigs of ram, nice video card, etc. We stocked up on them and sold all but one, this one. Over a year now and going strong.

Currently using a Dell laptop with dual boot (Win7 and MintOS). I can't say I'm a Dell aficionado, but all my three laptop's happen to be Dell! Sheer co-incidence.

I do have a Raspberry PI, but don't use much of it; no separate display (I disconnected it from my TV and now lies in a dark spot connected to modem).. only for certain automated tasks.. and I connect to it from one of my Dell. So primarily a Dell computer.

I have a MacBook Pro now. Before that I had a Dell (XPS).
I like the MacBook but I was expecting something more for that price. After almost a year with the MacBook I still don't know if the price is worth it.
I don't know how much of the price is for the quality and how much is just for the brand
