What is on Your Mind?

Well, it's been a few months now since we started running the toolbar on the bottom with some navigation menu, search, link to code tag video, some social networking tools, etc.

So, the question of the day is:

Should we keep it, maybe develop more toolbar apps, or dump it?

I'm not a heavy user of it, but when I do use it it does things that aren't easy to get at through the forum itself. I was skeptical of it at first but I'd miss it if it were gone.

Someday I've got to get around to writing a man page app for the toolbar. That would be useful, I think.

Keep those comments coming, as I have some time between now and the 12th of August, and am thinking to code some new features for the site; but I'm not sure what everyone would like to see.

Someone suggested coding a man page app for the toolbar, and I was thinking to do that if we don't get any "more interesting" suggestions (the recursive man page code I wrote for the forums is really some sloppy coding, and I dread to go back and have to redo it all for a toolbar app!)

The toolbar item i use by far most is the "Mod Comments" cut&paste-template, which i find very, very, useful. I don't want to decide if this justifies the whole effort. I probably could have come up with a solution for that myself, but somehow never got around to it, so i find that very convenient.

Another thing i use is the "Mod Queue", which is also a convenient thing to have and is not (easily) accessible from the top menu.

For most of the other things in the toolbar i tend to use the "top menu" in the header part instead, simply out of habit.

Bottom line: i would miss the functionality mentioned if the toolbar would be gone but don't care if it is available through a tool bar or a menu. If the functionality could be included in the top menu i wouldn't miss the tool bar at all.
