The story line for starters. The "fight" scenes. Even the "car?" races was not as "wow" as I expected.

Mostly the story line. That is what disappointed me the most.

The story line. My personal opinion is that great graphics cant help a "weak" story.

I felt as if they were just repeating the original Tron story only now the graphics were way cooler. All that time has passed and Tronverse (???) is still stuck way back in the 1980's (Whatever the time it was the original movie played).

There was nothing new. Just visually pleasing disc fights and car races. (The same kind of stuff in the first movie. Which was more fun to watch because it had a story and cool graphics for its time.)

I guess the mistake I made was think it would be a new movie.

And it is nice to see that I am only one who was disappointed. I guess people went to see the graphics.

To be honest I did not expect this movie to be as nested as Inception or as profound as Magnolia. That would have been a bit over the top in my eyes and let the old movie sit there back as a pitiful old movie.
In any aspect for me it is a worthy follow up to the old TRON movie with the old style being transported to the possibilities of graphics today. The old movie had a simple story too so it fits.
Compared to other very flat movies, TRON at least did not give the impression it is trash.
With the whole optical style, the pretty ladies and the cool Jeff Bridges, excellent music from Daft Punk, I have to admit that really liked that movie.
