Yep, you're right, it does (at least 8.2 does) come with gkrellm, although I found this advisory

Security update: This update package fixes a buffer overflow in gkrellmd, the server
component of the gkrellm package. The vulnerability may allow an attacker
to run arbitrary commands as the user running the daemon.
So it might be worth getting the latest version anyways (this is all assuming the OP is running SUSE
)
