After 10+ years as a Unix system administrator or engineer, I changed careers in August. I am now a Technical Trainer for Compellent, a SAN storage vendor based in Eden Prairie, MN. I teach courses for our end users and business partners as well as develop and update courses and documentation. It is a big change from being a Unix admin for sure - regular hours, no pager or night/weekend maintenance, getting up in the morning and having to actually function by 8am . . . Smilie But I am liking it so far.

Previous roles as an HP-UX Admin and Informix DBA
but I have tickered with desktops, laptops and servers since high school
I run dual-boot on my laptop to keep my hands in Unix

Remember those old Compaq(I think it was Compaq) "lunchboxes" with the orange screens and keyboard that attach to the side? That was my first "remote support" device at 300 baud......
