I removed the carriage returns. If you examine each file with the cat utility they will look the same but they are not. then examine each file with head/od commands I provided earlier and you will see the difference.

Well, this can be closed now. Thanks to everyone who posted and helped out. This was a difficult problem that no one on other forums could help me with. So I thank you guys a lot.
