Unable to install ubuntu on vmware server

Hi

I have downloaded vmware server 1.0.10 and ubuntu 9.10. Installed
vmware server on my windows xp and created the disk space for Ubuntu.
Now when i am running the virtual machine using the above downloaded
iso image, I get the installation window. I selected 'Install Ubuntu'
option and hit Enter. But after this nothing is happening. It's just
giving me black window.

Here's the log:

what hardware do you use for your server? have you tried to play with the vmware settings? e.g. memory size; vga memory size; acpi settings... and so on... there are lots of settings that can affect the behaviour of a virtual guest machine.

please notice to use code tags if you post output of code or logfiles!

thank you,
