Hi all,

I am trying to send a mail by using MAILX option to my YAHOO-Id.
It is giving the following error. Can any one help me to find what is the problem? Do i need to get any kind of settings in my UNIX box for using MAILX?

The bounce mail is as below:

Raam,

It seems that the mail server didnt properly send the message. Can you provide the mail server and mail server config?. What about sending to other email providers does it work? maybe its the mail server is preventing your outgoing mails or your firewall is preventing your mail server to communicate with public mail servers.

Mailx is just a plain mail client, Im recommending you to check the settings / configs and network connection of your mail servers.

Not sure what you used for your command, but here is one way to send.

echo "This is the body of the email" | mailx -s "Subject is here" ctxxxxx7@yahoo.com

mailx error message : mailx: NUL changed to @

If I use the "Mail" link instead of the "mail" link to ../mailx I get this error. Mail so-n-so @whatever.com mailx: NUL changed to @ Unknown command: "postmaster" The email still goes through but i get the error. If I use "mail" it goes thru without the error. Any ideas?? (2 Replies)
