screen blinks when escape key is pressed

hi folks,
i am using sun solaris, when i press escape key in putty/netterm screen will blink for a second, plese let me know where this setting is done by my admin, what i feel is my admin must have set some control key for this so that screen will refresh each time i press escape key. please let me kbnow how can i remove this irritating feature. thanks in advance.

This is the Visual Bell. If you were physically at the server you would probably here a beep instead. This can be disabled in the PuTTY options. Also, if you are using GNU screen, you may have to disable it there as well. There may be other ways that the visual bell is enabled but these are the two I know of.

Both HOME and INSERT key send same escape sequence on ssh

I couldn't seem to make 'HOME' key work on my remote windows ssh client to a Fedora Core3 server (the home key works perfectly when i'm physically on site.)
