oracle db on linux on intel 200

hi all, i wanted to have a linux box. And then an oracle db running on it all on a intel 200mhz. the purpose is so that i can have real experience in administering the database and linux as well..

the main thought is that its fine if i crashed it as it will not hamper any business transactions... but i am not sure of its feasibility and the result of my growing experience out of it... therefore,

what do u think?

i think it definetly would be feasable. expierence is what counts. though linux differs from other unix like os's, it definetly can give you a foundation to build on for learing all other os's. and if in the end you set up the whole thing, maybe you will use linux to run it, when its for real. and of course learning how to administer the database wil give you great expierence. you have nothing to lose, i say go for it.

That means it wants you to run it in a graphical environment.
Start up XWindows, and try again...

at the prompt, i typed setup and reconfigured the X configuration. but no matter what permutations of options i choose, it just prompted errro before i had to exited.

i am running on linux 7.2. my video card is working and is from S3
