UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

I was wondering if there is a way to give my regular user on Linux right to the /var/www/html folder and files therin without going into SU mode every time.

chmod -R o+r /var/www/html would give everyone that can log into the system read access. Don't know if this is what you want or not, maybe some security issues with doing this. The other approach would be to add everyone to a group, maybe called web or www or something, then make this group the owner of the files. This approach may cause issues with your web server.
