Why I can't see a certain file?

Guys,

I have a disk that is mapped with both windows and linux. I don't know how to say it exactly but this is what happens:
We have a user (A) with certain file (let's call) ABC. Using my linux account (we have the same group), I can't see file ABC using linux. But when I use windows, I can see file ABC in exact folder/location as user A says. I have tried 3 different accounts but I still can not see file ABC at linux directory path. But when I tried a 4th account, it can the see the file. The problem now is, I can't copy the file at linux while at windows copying is denied saying that the disk might be full already. Why do you think this happens?

Thanks a lot, this makes me wonder.

I had a similar issue when running a llinux guest under vmware on a windows box and sharing an ntfs partition. all updates that linux makes to ntfs are not visible for windows until you reboot.

Thanks demws, but which one do I need to reboot? Is it the windows server or the linux server? Why is that other accounts can see the file if we're using the same linux server, same group and the file have the necessary permissions?
