CPU slow down

I have a solaris 7 systrem which appears to be running slower than some other identical systems. I need to check out what programs or processes are responsible for this. Is there a quick way to do this. The ps -ef commands and the iostat give me info but not the kind of info I am looking for. What I need to find out is what is the load that each of the programs puts on the CPU so that I can eliminate any that we don't need which may be responsible for the slow down. Any thoughts ?

You should try the "top" command. It is a public domain program that will do what you want.

Thanks for the reply

When you say public domain do mean mean that its freely downloadable ? If so where do I get it ?
