Just type TERM=vt100 to change the terminal type.

How are you connected to the box? telnet? ssh? Or are you directly in front of it? If so, are you in an X/CDE graphical session or just a plain console session?

I connect to the box using telnet. I did try to set up TERM=vt100 . but crtl/c it still does not work

Did you try setting it to Ctrl-B instead?

Other things you can try are reset, which reinitialises your terminal settings, and stty sane, which tries to restore some "sane" tty settings... however I'm shooting in the dark now.

What shell are you using? (What is the output of ps -fp $$?)

Maybe interrupt signal handling has been turned off in your shell... try typing trap - INT to see if that fixes it.

I think with you help I did some progress I have changed to csh from ksh I was using and it works..
trap INT and Ctrl-B no luck
Well it's a possible work around but not a good on as I always use ksh
Let me know if you have anything else ... thankyou for assistance anyway

Ctrl-enter doesn't work when running Midnight Commander in xterm

my ctrl+c doesn't work

it seams that my ctrl+c and my ctrl+d don't work. if I type a bunch of jiberish on a line and ctrl+c I expect the command to be cancelled and to be given a fresh prompt, but instead it just putts ^C at the end of the line. Also, ctrl+d should close the session, but instead mine just puts ^D at... (3 Replies)
