Question bad upgrade to 8.10 and ubuntu doesn't boot afterwards.

at the end of October i upgraded the distro to 8.10 at first it seemed fine until i restarted my machine the boot seqence started i logged in after that nothing? tried booting again and the same thing happened did i do something wrong during the upgrade to 8.10 did everything the computer asked me ?Smilie
i ended up wiping my disk and reinstalling 8.04 from a master disk that i burned some time ago everything i had saved before the upgrade was gone after that.
was there something wrong with 8.10?

Maybe just with the update, maybe just in some cases, idk. You could have DL'ed 8.10 and install it instead of 8.04 directly to skip the update step. Since
you solved it already I personally think it's not worth the time looking into it, but you could ask in the official Ubuntu forums if it still worries you.
