I dont know if the unix admin has doen any change. however, if you can help me, how can i know if there any changes took place on the kenel , is there anything like audit log or smth that can show this to me.

do you have any views?

Thinking of it it reminds me of bad ftp batch e.g.:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
PASSWD='imtesting'
FILE='file.txt'

ftp mybox <<TO_END
user me
$PASSWD
put $FILE
quit
TO_END
exit 0

If called by cron it will never transfer the file...
And now in interactive mode:

Password:Name (ant:vbe):
In interactive mode, the script waits for keyboard input (proof of tty used somewhere no?)

If you dont want ftp client program read the password from /dev/tty you will have to use the -n option...

So I believe a bad written script launched by a scheduler can very well end with your issue

Hi, I have two linux boxes and due to some reasons I have reinstalled OS in one of them. Now Iam unable to telnet one of them.
