Need help with UNIX System V Release 4.0?

Hello, I'm a COMPLETELY new to Unix and was interested in learning C Programming by following the book "The C Programming Language (ANSI C) [2nd Edition]" by Dennis Ritchie, and in the book the authors use UNIX...

Now I have an old Compaq Armada 4120 laptop that I've wiped completely clean by "fdisking" the hard drive and I want to install Unix on it and I'd like to follow the C Programming book precisely, so I'd like to install a version of Unix that they were probably using...

Since the book was published in 1988, I'm assuming UNIX System V Release 4.0 would be the version I'm looking for.

If I try to search the internet or eBay for actual boot disks, all I seem to find are books about Unix, not the actual operating system on disk...

I know it's pretty old and some might think I'm crazy for trying to work with something so 'outdated' but the reason is that I'd like to learn how everything works first, so I can understand the concepts behind the more complex operating systems like Linux...(I hope I'm not wrong in saying that Linux is more complex than Unix.)

So does this operating system use a command line interface?
Any suggestions as to where I could purchase a boot disk?
If there is a boot disk, will there be a command on there to re-partition my hard drive?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Well, if you really want to go that route, I suggest you look for a copy of SCO Unixware. There are several copies available on Ebay at present.
