Hi all,
This is the first time I have attempted to install SCO UNIX. I have a customer that has requested we install it on a desktop sized machine and they have supplied me with their install CD - "SCO UNIX Release 6.0.0 Base Operating System Install disk CD 1"
I am attempting to install it on the following hardware:
MB - Intel DQ965GFEKR (BIOS version 5869)
CPU - Intel E6320 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo
RAM - Kingston 1GB DDR2-667 PC2-5300 (x 2)
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 80GB ST380815AS
CD - LG SATA DV+/- RW GH20NS10
Graphics are integrated, standard MS KB/Mouse, Philips 150P monitor.
My problem is that after the initial boot screen, then SCO UNIX "splash screen" and intial text, I get a kernel panic. Seems to be exactly the same as described here:
OpenServer 6.00 Install Kernel Panic Intel MB 0xF000FF53 - Unix Linux Forum
There is no option in the BIOS to enable/disable PNP.
Can someone advise what might be causing the problem, or if there is anything I can do to rectify it? At this stage I am not typing any commands at the boot prompt, simply hitting enter to continue through.
Any help is appreciated and I will attempt to answer any related questions and post results as quickly as possible.
Thanks
