Application based core dump:
It's an error, usually with the core being dumped somewhere on your hard disk. It's a file which can be used for debugging - if you're pro enough.

For normal users like you and me, imply find the core file, usually with a .core extention and delete it!

Then, carry on working! Smilie

WIntellect is right.

Unless your a developer, or you'd like to try your hand at it, just delete them. There usually around 1-2meg so they take up a bit of space.

When a core file is dumped, it will have the application name in the form of <appname>.core.

While you may not be able to step through the core file, you can identify the app that caused the core and the time that the core was dumped. I would then backtrack and see what could have happened that caused a normally stable app to core out.
