Question nt to unix dictionary
Has anyone ever encountered a good publication or site that is basically a NT(or DOS) to UNIX Dictionary / Translator (i.e. service = daemon or ren = mv, etc) - I've found lots of websites that list like 20 or so command equivalents, but that's about it- what about differences in system folders, how to make certain OS-level settings (paths, partitions, etc) -- thanks

This may be useful...not translation as such, but very useful if you wanted to make one yourself...

thanks for suggestion, but I think I'm too much of a Unix newbie to make one that's very robust (at least not for a few months ? years?) I was hoping there's a Unix oldie out there who may have wanted to help pave the path for those like me who will be frequently alternating between NT and Unix

Try this link - I never had to do anything as an admin with NT but possibly this DOS-to-UNIX will help.
