Where can I install from to update to the most recent printer model list when installing a printer?

There is a software package called a2ps:

http://www-inf.enst.fr/~demaille/a2ps/

that may not have the exact answer to your question, but it has a lot of good information about converting to postscript. If a printer is a postscript printer, it should work (print postscript), regardless of the brand name.

There are other links at that site that may be helpful.
