Awk command
Hai
Iam trying to use awk command in the K shell script
I get this error
syntax error at line 9 : `{' unexpected

Can someone help me how to do this.
If I have a variable in K shell which has "ABCDEF" and I have to print first three characters of the variable using awk

The K shell can do this directly without using awk.

x=ABCDEF
echo ${x%${x#???}}
# 3
