How to increase the filesystem size?

Hi..

I want to increase the file system size of any filesystem online, without using the Volume manager like LVMs, is it possible? & if yes then how?

Creat a empty directory e.g /xyz (make sure the permissions are 777) then add that directory to that fs

like wise you can try the same for swap memory before implementing it to realtime.
