Problems connecting to the Internet

I am trying to connect a Solaris 10 PC to the internet via a Linksys router and a cable modem. I have tried following suggestions in one of the posts here for manual setup but so far no luck.

Does the Solaris 10 install for x86 automatically pick up the internet connection?

you may have to edit /etc/resolv.conf and put your nameserver in there.

yes, that is one of the manual configuration steps I did while following instructions in another post on this subject. As I stated before, I haven't been able to get a manual setup to work.

I am under the impression from a different post I saw here that the Solaris 10 install is supposed to ask you if your system is networked. However, while I am pretty sure I saw this yes/no choice during my first install attempt (I remember answering NO) I haven't seen the the choice come up on subsequent install attempts.

I think that if I could answer YES to the question, my configuration problem might resolve itself. So can anyone tell me if I am all wet, OR how to run the install so that it will give me this option?

cant you envoke the setup program for the solaris install? i run freebsd, and i can pull up "sysinstall".. the system installer any time i want to configure other things. anything like that that you can do?

ok i did some research. try running sys-unconfig then rebooting.
when you reboot you should be able to reconfigure various settings on your box. when your networking comes up DO NOT configure for ipv6. dont do anything with ipv6.
hopefully this will work.
