Solaris Express Slow to load Gnome

Hi,

I recently installed the latest Solaris Express Developers Edition. I'm building a NAS and want to use RAID Z, and Solaris 10 didn't have the drivers for my HD controller card. Everything is up and running fine, but I notice it takes a good 8 minutes to load gnome (or X, not sure where it is getting held up). When I had Solaris 10 on, everything was fast (30 sec to a minute).

I guess the first step is to check the log files for loading gnome, but where are they? Can I get the graphical interface to load verbose? How?

Thanks,

Cisco

Hmmm... I'm not sure if it is the same bug. I'm not running opensolaris (though it may be the same for both) and the problem does not appear to happen at the gnome panel stage but before (where you get the pixilated hourglass, before the nicer gnome loads, I think this is X) and it is not an infinite loop, just 8 minutes or so.

I'm pretty new to all of this new fangled computer mumbo jumbo; technology and electricity and all, but I saw reference in the bug report to a 'truss' file, so I'm going to see if I can't figure out how to make me one of those pretty things. Perhaps that will help.
