Error Problem with sending E-Mail

Im having trouble with sending a file with attachment. The attach file wasn't sent to to the recepient.

We tested this manually and it works but with the script it doesn't work. I'm thinking there is a problem with the script. Here is the code:

mailto=`/dir/dir2/dir3/GET_EMAIL_ADDR.sh QUERYREPORT`
uuencode /dir/dir2/dir3a/file.xls file.xls | mail -s "QUERY Report" $mailto

im thinking mailto, the distribution list has a problem.

thank you.

Can you post the code regarding the /dir/dir2/dir3/GET_EMAIL_ADDR.sh component ??
Otherwise mail -s should/could be mailx -s
Otherwise I'm sure you'll find the answer if you perform a search!

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Cameron

Quick question, if im not going to use that .sh file, how can I email this to a more than one recepient? or what is the syntax for more than one recepient?

By "doesn't work", do you mean you get an error message, or a core dump, or it quits with exit code 42, or it quits with error code 0 but nothing seems to happen? (In the last case, have you looked in the mail spool for pending outgoing mail? Try mailq or, if that doesn't work, maybe ask your admin.)

the email is sent but there was no attachment. When I tried to remove the the mailto part and change it to a single email add it worked

Sorry to bother with this one, since our unix expert and the one he created the script are not around. I have to solve this problem on my own
