Thanks for the help. I did try my best to search for what I was looking for but wasn't able to find anything. I'm trying to better my Unix understanding and going through a selection of tutorials does help, however some of the question are very tricky and i'm unsure about.

pardon me if the Q3 looks, rude. But the main point as what Perderabo says, the question looks more like a homework with multiple choices on one question. If you asked the question without those Q1, Q2 im sure the situation is diffrent, however its not a smart comment, its just an acknowledgement.

Happend since the board opened.

vi - replacing a relative path with absolute path in a file

Hi, I have a file with about 60 lines of path: app-defaults/boxXYZ....... I want to change this to /my/path/goes/here/app-defaults/boxXYZ, but of course vi doesn't like the regualr :s/old/new/ command. Is there any other quick way to do this? Thanks ;) (2 Replies)
