awk question

Hi, in the following script, what does " a[NR]=$0} END " mean ?
do we need that ? Thanks

awk '{a[NR]=$0} END {for (i=NR; i>=1; i--) print a[i]}' file
# 2

this is to reverse a file.
Quote:
a[NR]=$0
NR (Record number) is a number associated with each record.
$0 stands for entire line (one line in the input file)
so a[NR]=$0 means it will store each line in array 'a'.

Hope you got it (am not a good teacher Smilie )

The word "END" is associated with the following expression enclosed in curly braces (that is, the for loop), not with the initial part of the script.

With the expression "a[NR]=$0" you create an array which contains every row of the input file, numbering from one (NR is a predefined variable containing the number of record).

When the array is filled, at the end (and only for one time) is executed the for loop and the print command, which prints the array in reverse order.

help

The script should check the entire create table definition upto ; and list out the test suite names which does not primary index in the definition.

Example:
main directory which has subdirectries also:

/home/surya

File name : abc.text

create table data (pi int, col1 char(1), col2 char(5), col3 int) primary index (pi);

1.Check for Create table upto ;
2.omit primary index if found and display the file names and the directory it was found
