Question Shtml in Unix

I've just transferred shtml files to a unix server and just as I expected they look nothing like they're supposed to look..

I've used include files to create menus - this is how I've linked the files in the code:

<!--#include file="/include/menu_top.inc" -->

And this is the error I get:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

I have no idea what went wrong and where to begin fixing it because I have never worked with unix before. If there's someone outthere who could help me out with this, I'd be very thankful.

thanks Smilie

What does the Apache (I assume that's what you're using...) error_log say?

Hi,

I only have rights to edit files on the server so I have no idea.. makes everything a bit more complicated.

But, I already figured out that the problem might be the way I'm linking to the file and I'm going to try using

<!--#include virtual="/include/menu_top.inc" --> in stead of
<!--#include file="/include/menu_top.inc" -->

*fingers crossed*
