where is the bootdisk for Sun Solaris 8 located? Is it on the install CD because i dont see a bootdisk image file or RAWRITE anywhere. I am really new to pure Unix (I've used Linux for a little while) and need help badly.

there is no boot disk except CD when you do installation and then HDD takes over. What do you need it for?

Is the CD-ROM bootable? Check your BIOS for an option to either boot from the CD or to change the boot order.

There is a floppy that you can use to boot your machine to install Solaris if your CDROM drive isn't bootable. I am sure you can get it from Sun's website. Try looking for the "Device Configuration Assistant." I have the Solaris 8 media from Sun and it was included, that is what they have labeled it.
