WEll,

If yer lookin' fer a good speed mac and it can handle OSX, I'd actually look at the new iBooks, they are really awesome, and I have a few friends that are techs that actually double boot them, and they are really impressed. They use OSX for most of what they like to do and OS9 for client troubleshooting. I would suggest this for a good starter "new" box, as for something more reasonable in price (something I would actually be able to afford), I'd actually look at some of the desktops, anything from a G3 Beige forward. The BLue and whites are cool as well, but the Beige G3s are a bit tricky, check the video chipset, make sure to get the "good" ATI chipset, I think it's the Pro, not sure. THis is what I bought, and it went for about $200, no monitor, and a decent amount of RAM. Keep in mind, MAcs do RAM differently, at least in OS9, I believe X's mem manager is that of the Micro Kernel, so BSD, which is actually MUCH better, and makes for a REALLY stable box.

Hope this helps some, you can get OSX on many of the PPC boxes, but they haven't seemed to run as well as a workstation for me, I like the reaction from a G3 or better. For a server, I don't much mind speed all of the time, it's not overly important to me to have good graphics on the server, but I think if you are looking at actually seeing the desktop, I'd shoot for a good processor.

NAME

     ssh-argv0 -- replaces the old ssh command-name as hostname handling

SYNOPSIS

     hostname | user@hostname [-l login_name] [command]

     hostname | user@hostname [-afgknqstvxACNTX1246] [-b bind_address] [-c cipher_spec] [-e escape_char] [-i identity_file] [-l login_name]
     [-m mac_spec] [-o option] [-p port] [-F configfile] [-L port:host:hostport] [-R port:host:hostport] [-D port] [command]

DESCRIPTION

     ssh-argv0 replaces the old ssh command-name as hostname handling.	If you link to this script with a hostname then executing the link is
     equivalent to having executed ssh with that hostname as an argument.  All other arguments are passed to ssh and will be processed normally.

     See ssh(1).

AUTHORS

     OpenSSH is a derivative of the original and free ssh 1.2.12 release by Tatu Ylonen.  Aaron Campbell, Bob Beck, Markus Friedl, Niels Provos,
     Theo de Raadt and Dug Song removed many bugs, re-added newer features and created OpenSSH.  Markus Friedl contributed the support for SSH
     protocol versions 1.5 and 2.0.  Jonathan Amery wrote this ssh-argv0 script and the associated documentation.
