Help! urgent!

I have an old HPUX 1020.
The /home size was 43% free yesterday.
This morning I found out that it is 100% full.
I didn't find any core files.
I need a script or a command that check for the largest files on ./home.
Thanks!

What have you been running?
Sounds more like a homework question.

There are some users that probably running some reports.
That's why I want to sort the files by size.
This is a very loaded system... about 400 users.
I'm trying to do my homework but the dog just ate my notebook.(:

Hammer & Screwdriver awk helpīs

Hallo,
this command help you to find big files on your system.
find / -ls | awk '$7 > 100000 { print $11 }'

modify / to /home or other
and 100000 (size of the file) to any other value.

When I run this command the "-sl" gets a "bad argument".
when I tried to run it without the ls - it returned fast with nothing. I started to delete the zeros one by one -and didn't get any answer.

am I getting to itchy

The following will list files that exceed 999,999 bytes. If you want to search a particular directory tree, then put that in place of the slash.

find / -size +999999c -exec ls -ld {} \;

Error

I think the problem with //-sl // is

that it is important to use it in the right order.

type -ls and it works.

best regards joerg
