hi i am using mandrake linux
How do i run the emacs editor ?

may know i know where exactly do i place the command

If you have a terminal window on your system or you have a session running on the system, you will have some type of prompt (% or $ ). Type man emacs at that prompt or emacs filename.

ermm it gives a message sayin no manual entry for emacs
what do i do ?

I can't actually remember how I got to this point but I deducted that Emacs must be an interpreter because you have to run w3m in it which I think is written in Lisp. could someone please tell me how do I work emacs on unix?? how do you input the command and open up files and edit stuff. I know M-x info will lauch the info viewer, C-x u is undo, M-x spell-region run a spell check but when i use some of these command on emacs in Unix, I'm getting no results or... (1 Reply)
