Data Need help in awk or sed!!
Hi guys,i need to do the following tasks and wish somebody can help using awk or sed language

I want to place a sentence after a certain sentences when it match a certain word

for example:
line.txt = hi how are u?

/hi/how/are/u/
hi/how are u?

what i wanna:

/hi/how/are/u/
hi how are u?
hi/how are u?

as u can see..it put the line.txt after the "hi/how/are/u/" but not the "hi/how are u?",as the word i wanna match is "/hi/" but not "hi",i try using sed to do and come out with this

sed "/hi/r line.txt" try.txt>try1.txt

but this match all the sentence which have "hi" inside,i only wanna match the one with "/hi/"..can anyone help out?either awk or sed will be fine..thanks alot..will be waiting for reply!!Smilie

This looks a lot like homework. Is it? If it is, it isn't allowed. Read the rules.

hey..nah..this is not homework,cos i doing out a system..then need help in this area only..the others is almost complete..but left this..so really hope can help out,thanks
