Backup Data to tape

Hi everyone!!!

I have a question on incremental backup`s and full backup`s?
We currently use the Round-Robin schema to do full backup`s on a daily basis but want to change that as our data is increasing.
I would like to imply the Grandfather-father-Son policy taking a full backup on the 1st of every month-full backup every sunday and incremental every hour or 3 hours as data chages take place. My colleague would only like to imply a Grandfather-Son policy taking daily incremental backup`s on ufsdump level 1 and i would like to take incremental backups like this:
My suggestion on what we need to imply: GRANDFATHER-FATHER-SON

First Day of month
Level 0 (full)

Every Sunday of week
Level 0 (Full)
All other Mondays
Level 1 (incremental to previous Level 0)
Tuesday
Level 2 (daily incremental to previous Level 1)
Wednesday
Level 2 (daily incremental to previous Level 1)
Thursday
Level 2 (daily incremental to previous Level 1)
Friday
Level 2 (daily incremental to previous Level 1)
Saturday
Level 2 (daily incremental to previous Level 1)

Tape speed :

80MBps

I would like to know what you guy`s the we should implement?we are both relativly new to system admin.I would also like to know if we are to do a restore on My policy how I would go about it in any scenario?

Is father-son enough or do i have to Grandfather-father-son

Thanks
Donovan
