How can I find all the files that modified the past day ?

it is a find / .................. (mtime or what >/?)

I'm pretty sure that's right.
Also, you can read up more on the find command by typing in man find from the command line.

Thanks for that but it did not seem to work. I am using solaris.
Here is what I got:

# find / -mtime +1 -exec echo{}\;
find: -exec not terminated with ';'
# find / -mtime +1 -exec echo{}
find: -exec not terminated with ';'
# find / -mtime +1 -exec echo{}\

find: -exec not terminated with ';'

Should end with ;\

No, it does not work,

it gives me the > prompt.

# find / -mtime +1 -exec echo{};\
>

any other ideas please?

Try the following ...

find / -name \* -mtime +1 -type f -exec echo {} \;

Just cropped this from an existing script I have
And the ending of the command is `\;` - sorry for any confusion

Below can be seen what I have tried and I got back:

# find / -name \* -mtime +1 -type f -exec echo{}\;
find: -exec not terminated with ';'

# find / -name \* -mtime +1 -type f -exec echo{}\

So, 1st time with ; and then without. I believe is the -exec makes the difference. Do you understand this line or you just copied from a script? I am using solaris 7
Any other ideas please?
