Question

I have a quad ethernet card in my sun box, and only 3 of them are visable when I "ifconfig -a". How do I activate the the 4th one? I think it is solaris 5.6. Thanks.

I beleivethat ifconfig -a only shows configured interfaces. Though I am not certain that this will work, try creating a file named /etc/hostname.qe3 containing the hostname of that interface. (This assumes that qe0,qe1 & qe2 are present) Use ifconfig to give it an IP and add the entry to /etc/hosts.
