Backup Software for UNIX systems
Hi,

which software is recommended for backup of UNIX systems ( e.g. SUN, Solaris ). Backup software and database e.g. Oracle.
One possibility is Networker, but license is expensive and also service contract.

I personally prefer Veritas, or Dataprotector(omniback).
Legato is a bit clunky at times and Arcserv is the worst product of its kind ever produced.
If you want free... Amanda (an open source solution) has worked moderately well for me at a few state contracts in various environments. For Solaris you would have to buy the enterprise versions (very cheap) or roll your own.

Networker - EMC backup
I find the EMC product very reliable and user friendly. One of the features that it has that it will allow you to do full backups, as well as incremental and consolidated migration backups. Not like Netbacku..where it is incremental forever.
