How to create ghost images of a Solaris system?

Please excuse me if I asked some stupid questions. I know this has been asked and answered, but I didn't get the answer I need yet.

How do I create a ghost image of a Solaris system? And if I can do so, how do I restore it?

The purpose is (just like in Windows) to restore a clean system when something has gone wrong.

Thank you in advance!

Look into using flash archives.

man flar, man flarcreate man flash_archine

Also search on http://docs.sun.com and/or http://www.sun.com/bigadmin for those strings

Thanks for referring me to Solaris flash archive. It seems to be what I'm looking for. But when I read through the pages, I got lost.

I can understand how to create a flash archive.

But how do I restore it?

Suppose I have Solaris CDs, and have booted the machine into "ok" prompt. What do I do now?

Thanks!

You boot the cd's for a start. Somewhere it will ask you if this is a normal install or a flar restore. I forget exactly when this comes up. Just be alert and read the instructions. Then you carve up your disks just like an install. When it comes time to populate the disks, files are obtained from the flar tape or what ever rather than the cd's. Just try it. You're installing anyway. If you have a problem just restart.
