What version of unix for a 386

I have already learned everything possible from windows or all that I at least care to learn and am now looking to move onto unix. My problem is that I have never used unix nor do I know anyone who has. If anyone could give any clues to what version/make of unix would be best on an old 386 box then I'd be grateful. Dont need help installing or setting anything up just unsure of which unix to try using seeing how there are so many.

It would be a very good idea to go thru FAQs or search these forums for the same question, this question has been answered at least, more than one hundred times. Thanks.

Its not matter of not helping anyone, our members are very much helpful, but problem is that no one wants to fill the forum with similar kind of threads, therefor if we know that if question has already been answered, then why we should start a new thread, this is the reason only.

I hope you can understand it.

Tayyab

I apoligize for being sarcasitc, but I have read the FAQ and all the other questions that have been asked that seemed relevent and still havent seen anything about what I asked. I know where to download versions of unix and linux, but wanted an opinion from someone else of which to use. If I've missed it out then please feel free to point it out.

Do a search for "unix 386". You will see several threads related to what Unix flavors are recommended for older PCs.
