Commercial or de-facto standard shells: ksh sh csh tcsh bash and a few others
This doesn't mean all of these shells are good - csh has a lot of problems in my opinion.
There are a LOT of shells out there like pdksh or zsh. You're better off staying with
the most common ones.

To change your shell after you've logged in example changing to bash (if it is on your system - the command: which bash -- will tell you if its there.)
Code:
/bin/bash

echo $SHELL

echo $0

work in most shells, except in oddball ones. The second one should work anywhere.
