Unable to boot with XP after installing SUSE
Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post.

I had following setup before installing SUSE Linux:

Windows 98 installed on Primary partition
Windows XP installed on Extended Partition

When I installed SUSE, it shared space from primary partition and shrunk the size of Windows partition.

SUSE is running perfectly, but When I try to run Windows XP, it doesn't boot.

Any idea......

I wanna more detail about your computer.

Now, You have 2 OS (SUSE and WinXP) ?

What OS you install first between WindowsXP or 98 ?

Hi Aungomarin,

Thanks for your reply. I deleted the partition table and now I'm planning a fresh install of Windows XP and SUSE. Following is status of my hard drive:

Primary Partition: 10 GB
Extended Partition: 20 GB
Unpartitioned space: 7 GB (Reserved for SUSE Installation)

Please suggest me in which order I have to install both my OS for a smooth boot and any precautions.

Make sure that you format C drive with FAT32 file system, because I have faced problems with NTFS file system and SUSE dual boot. As well as, Install Windows XP first and then install SUSE on the unpartitioned space. Hope it helps!

I don't sure about SUSE and WinXP-NTFS but I used to install
WinXP-NTFS with LinuxTLE, It's really work.

To patras
To make sure for your computer u should follow shereenmotor step
but if u don't urgent -> plz try to do WinXP-NTFS with SUSE first
