Reading *.chm files?

I have a bunch of e-books I got but i can't open them. Can I somewhat convert them into html? I don't have an X-server yet so any GUI-programs are out of the question. Are there any programs I might have? Running Debian.

Regards
Richard

chmdeco is text-mode program but not sure if helps you.

Description: CHM decompiler is a program that converts the internal files of CHM files back into the HHP, HHC, and HHK, etc. used to compile the documentation.

If you have X-Windows, try gnochm, kchm, kchmviewer. I use gnochm by the way. It seems to be most stable among those I tried. However, note that some CHM especially those by Microsoft uses a lot of proprietary IE-specific Javascript/DOM that will not work in other CHM viewers.
