HI RudiC

I only want 1 .xml file with structure but the values change upon each loop as I will be calling another job to process the record structure inside of the until the counter = 100. I hope this makes more sense. That includes the excludes the email field (not relevant). The ID number is actually the main trigger for it. firstName1 and surname1 I thought of changing to distinguish a pattern so when testers use the records I am creating, they easily search for it.

Kind Regards
Julio

What I have done so far, correct me where I am wrong

Code:
 pgm=`basename $0`
today=`cut -c09-16 /fns/ed/r/data/file/mflags`
timestamp=`date +%m%d%\H%\M%\S`

export DD_MFLAGS=$data/file/MFLAGS
export DD_TESTREP=$spool/test.${1}.${timestamp}.out
export DD_INCONFIG=$data/test/client-create/Test.xml
export DD_OUTCONFIG=$data/test/client-create/Output.xml
counter=0
echo "*** Start of" $pgm "at " `date`  2>&1 | tee -a $syslog
awk '
/ID="(first|sur)name1"/ {sub (/[^"]*"\/>/, "Test 1\"/>")
}
/ID="IDnumber"/ {match ($0, /[^"]*"\/>/)
NR = substr ($0, RSTART, RLENGTH-3)
for (i=1; i<=100; i++) {sub (/[^"]*"\/>/, NR + i "\"/>")
}
next
}
1
' CONVFMT="%013.0f" $DD_INCONFIG
