Foobar Linux / Server Question

I'm running Foobar Linux OS and setting up a machine to operate as a server box for a large social group.

The default distribution is:
Code:
   / 2GB
    /var 100MB
    /boot 100MB
    <swap> 2GB
    /usr remaining space

I don't have much experience with managing a server, and thus I'm unsure if this setup will be sufficient. Any suggestions to how I should allocate this space are greatly appreciated. This is a learning experience for me, so if you could let me know why I should alter a specific partition I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

You haven't told us:
  • what distribution you're using,
  • what sizes of disks you have,
  • what types of disks you have,
  • what types of controllers you have,
  • what type of computer you're using,
  • what applications you'll be running on this server,
  • how many people are in your large social group, nor
  • what the people in your large social group hope to do with this server.
Don't you think some of the items in the above list might affect what filesystems you might need on your server and that they might also affect the amount of space that should be allocated to those filesystems?
