Rcs

does anyone know if RCS is part of UNIX? Does a copy come with all UNIX systesm? Is it a seperate program? Is it purchased? Or is RSC a freeware program downloaded for everyone to use?

Error RSC vs. rscadm etc.

RSC is part of every SUN UNIX box. It is found in the systems firmware. However, rscadm, is found on an accompanying disk. RSC runs independently of the OS, i.e. it doesn't need an OS to function. I hope that
sheds some light on the subject.

Good Luck!

CPU & Memory RCS vs. RSC question

Hello,
The RCS software is used by primarily by UNIX hardware for software revisioning, i.e. keeping track of sensitive files that get changed a lot by perhaps many people. There are RCS repositories across the 'net I would suggest looking at.

The RSC is a console software located in the specific system's firmware, the OS is not required for it to function. There is Administrative software that uses rscadm a UNIX facility. This software is located on distribution CDs.

Good luck!
