Wget doesn't download eclipse tar.gz
I try to download eclipse IDE from :
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/do...mirror_id=1136

but when i run the wget command i get :

wget https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/epp/downloads/release/luna/SR1a/eclipse-cpp-luna-SR1a-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz&mirror_id=1136
[3] 31641
mirror_id=1136: Command not found.
[3]  + Suspended (tty output)        wget https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/epp/downloads/release/luna/SR1a/eclipse-cpp-luna-SR1a-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz


any idea why ?

It is because & is a special shell char meaning "and" and the url is interperted as

wget https://URL "and" mirror_id=1136, which in term tries to execute mirror_id=1136 in shell with result "Command not found"

Try enclosing the URL in double quotes "https://.."

Peasant is correct. Use quotes to prevent the shell from interpreting your URL as command:
