UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hello All,

We are running a process in unix box. This is how we will do

1.our process name is Runprojectprocess <ID> configuration
2.We will be running upto 500 id at once. So we are populating a text file as Runprojectprocess 1 configuration to Runprojectprocess 500 configuration
3. And we will execute the file.

this is what is happening when we are running at some point day 102 the process is geetting failed and it goes to 103 and it is completed sucessfully.When I checked why it is failed it was trying to insert some garbage value in the database. Also if i rerun the 102 process as separate it is running fine.

Question:
1. Is Unix wont be able to run multiple process as we are doing . So it is getting Garbage values ?

HOW do you start your processes?
Your question is unclear, as unix is certainly able to run multiple processes.
I'd rather check the inputstream you pass to your 'Runprojectprocess'.

Like, before starting the processes, save the values to a logfile before passing to the process to be started, so you can review and compare the values/inputstream.

Also, are you sure all your 'raw' data, is 100% identical for all the parts you pass to your processes?
If there is a slight diffrence, it might 'suddenly' read/pass other data than expected.
