UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hey,
Boy! I am having problem with loging on to linux box?? I am trying to log on to telnet cis.hfcc.net but it's not letting me...everytime I try it is saying that an error has occured??? Do I have to download something, or there is something wrong that I am not getting!!?;confused;

Tell me..I will wait for a response..thanks for reading...I really appreciat your effort..

I tried it myself and got...
$ telnet cis.hfcc.net
Trying 198.109.96.14...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Attempt
to connect timed out without establishing a
connection

...is this the same error you get?
It apparently belongs to Hernry Ford Community
College. I assume you are supposed to have
telent access? The error seems to imply that
telnet (at port 23) is not answering on that
machine. You should talk to the administrator.

Thanks man, I really appreciate that you tried...and yes the same thing is happening to me, but the thing is that, my other friends are able to log on...and when I try..it never works..I have not idea why...
We talked to System Administrator and he said: I have load some patches...but he must be done by now...as my other pals are logging in and doing their homework..
But I really appreciate that you tried...and I am very thankful to you...
