Ext2 file system from windows

Hi all,

I have some problem with the ext2 file system format.
In particolar, I have a unix based system full backup, which is a .iso file. In order to create a bootable usb, i have to format the USB with ext2 FS, and then I have to mount that image on it.
The problem is that, I need to it from windows.

So, from Windows 7:
-create a usb with ext2 FS
-mount the .iso full backup on that usb
-run the usb to install the unix file system.

How can I do it?

Thank you all.

Best regards,

Mr. Piros

You need to "run the USB" from inside windows 7? Without rebooting?

Virtual PC.

No! Smilie
I have only to create the bootable disk on windows 7.
Then the installation process requires to restart the PC.

Depends on what you need to do with it.

I would suggest making a pre-made disk image that you can dump to the drive with any Windows disk tool, already containing an ISO file which gets mounted. Dump it to the USB drive, perhaps with cygwin, then use Ext2 File System Driver for Windows | SourceForge.net to replace the ISO file.
